Who am I?
I’m David Gould, a artist, vocalist, pianist, producer and booking agent in New York City. Born and raised in St. Louis Missouri and later the DC metro area, I came to NYC in 2020 after receiving a scholarship to The School of Jazz and Contemporary Music at The New School. Now graduated with honors I teach young musicians at The Bay Ridge School of Music and continue to cement my place in the New York City scene.
As a pianist specializing in synthesizers I have played with many notable acts including Muo Duo, Rxagxn, Amalthea, and Waiting On Line One. I was even featured on the TV show “Wonderama” playing with Muo Duo shot live from Times Square. As a solo act I have also sung and played piano at many establishments such as the Walker Hotel in Tribeca, Verrazano Nursing Homes and multiple Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser runs.
I also have experience as a musical director/producer having directed and produced backing tracks for multiple musical theater productions at Hunter College.
As an artist you can find me tearing it up on keys and lead vocals with my Blues/Rock band The Third Rails and my solo project Dave Waiting. I’ve played at many notable venues in the city such as The Bitter End, Arlene’s Grocer, Shapeshifter Lounge, Brooklyn Music Kitchen, and many more. Check out my band and my solo work to keep up with upcoming shows and new releases.
Looking forward, all I want is to continue to do what I love: creating and playing music in any form. I aspire to create experiences that resonate with the hearts of those who listen. In a world that often takes itself too seriously, with my music I hope to drop the intellectualized bullshit of everyday life and take myself and listeners back to the simple yet intangible experience of the here and now. I believe that through music, we can all discover the extraordinary in the ordinary.
